Since 1910, FMB Bank has stood in the heart of the Wright City community. Established and owned by the Ruge family, FMB Bank has influenced and supported the development of Wright City with the integrity and principles that cannot only be provided by a long-term family philosophy but in the true spirit of the good neighbor.
As a locally owned, independent bank with a keen respect for the family atmosphere of the business, all aspects of FMB Bank are handled in-house. Employees are trained in many areas and thus equipped to handle any situation.
The majority of FMB Bank’s staff has dedicated an average of 40 years of service to the bank with a few having been employed here even longer than that. These employees are also residents of Wright City and surrounding areas- taking great pride in setting a high standard of community service.
“Such longevity in the banking business is a great value to our customers, most of whom have long term relationships with us. Where others have branches, we have our roots.” -Butch Ruge
Well past our 100-year anniversary, FMB Bank is rich in history. FMB Bank was the only bank in Warren County to survive the Great Depression. During that time the bank, then called Farmers and Merchants Bank, conducted business about 1 block from where it stands today. In the late 1950’s, growth in the community facilitated the need for a larger building, so the bank was built at its present location. In 2008, Farmers and Merchants bank, shortened its name to FMB Bank and remodeled the building to accommodate continued growth.
Today, FMB Bank is as strong as ever. We may be over 100 years old, but we have kept up with the times to accommodate today’s banking standards. With FMB Bank you get the best of both worlds- small town personal service and all the amenities of modern banking. We owe it all to our customers and who have been with us over the years, and we look forward to building a future with those we have not yet had the pleasure of serving.
